Mō Tēnei Tūranga Mahi | About the Role

We are currently seeking a motivated and knowledgeable hourly-paid scholar with qualifications in Construction Management, Project Management, and/or Construction Law to lead and support teaching.  

We are based at Wintec’s centrally located Hamilton City Campus. The campus fosters innovation, collaboration, and student success in the heart of the Waikato region.

This role offers the opportunity to teach in a vibrant and modern learning environment.

The appointed salary for this HPA role will be between $40-$45 per hour dependent on skills and experience (6-hours per week).

The (Architectural Technology and Quantity Surveying is based in our (Built Environment Team) | Te Pūkenga reporting to the (Team Manager) and will be responsible for teaching: 

  • Contract Administration for Architectural Technology Learners – Semester 2, 2025
  • Law & Contracts for both Architectural Technology and Quantity Surveying learners – Semester 1, 2026

To be successful in this role you will have:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and practice-informed lectures, tutorials, and assessments.
  • Design and develop course materials aligned with curriculum objectives.
  • Provide pastoral and academic support to students throughout their learning journey.
  • Participate in moderation, curriculum review, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with internal and external academic and industry stakeholders to enrich the learning experience.

Essential Criteria:

  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant field (e.g., Project management, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related discipline).
  • Proven teaching experience in Contract Law, Contract Administration, or related subject areas.
  • Sound knowledge of current industry practices with NZIA and/or 3910 Standard Conditions of Contracts, and contractual frameworks.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and organisational skills.
