Mō Tēnei Tūranga Mahi | About the Role

The Head of Facilities is responsible for leading the Facilities Team, managing the operational and capital works for Wintec’s property and infrastructure, along with security, fleet vehicles and car parking. This role ensures that all Wintec property is safe, healthy, sustainable and fit-for-purpose for our kaimahi, akonga and visitors.

The appointing salary for this role will be between $131,300 and $160,000, dependent on skills and experience.

The Head of Facilities is based at Wintec| Te Pūkenga, reporting to the Regional Finance Director, and will be responsible for: 

  • managing the Facilities Teams across the Wintec campuses.
  • the operational management of Wintec’s buildings and infrastructure including overseeing building maintenance, supplier engagement, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and managing the sustainable use of energy and water resources. 
  • the fleet management function, which oversees the maintenance and operations of Wintec’s vehicles. 
  • the car parking function at the City and Rotokauri campuses.
  • the security function responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for akonga, kaimahi and visitors.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • postgraduate level qualification in property or asset management or a related field or the equivalent body of knowledge gained through experience.
  • experience in managing and leading facility/property teams in large and complex organisations.
  • experience in motivating and developing team members to maximise the quality and contribution of the Facilities Team.
  • demonstrating significant experience in planning and managing significant property and infrastructure projects.
  • Excellent communication skills and proven ability in developing relationships across a business, and the ability to influence at senior levels and a diverse range of stakeholders.
