Mō Tēnei Tūranga Mahi | About the Role 

Sport Science teacher at Jinzhou, Liaoning - Develop your career with Wintec in China!  

This is a unique experience for exceptional sport science specialist to teach and coordinate the Sport Rehabs joint programme for Wintec at Jinzhou Medical University (JZMU), Jinzhou, China in fixed term positions, teaching in the classroom up to 24 hours per week. Starting in Mid August 2025. 

We are looking for proactive team players that can develop good working relationships with other teachers, administration and management staff. You will be resilient, adaptable and able to deal with ongoing change, and could preserver with what at times can be lower motivated students.  

The appointing salary for this role will be between $74.400 and $94.000, dependent on skills and experience.  

The Offshore Sport teacher is based in our Wintec | Te Pūkenga reporting to the Transnational Education Manager and will be responsible for:    

  • To create a positive and supportive programme and learning environment by using effective teaching strategies. 
  • Actively promoting learning consistent with student needs and professional standards to ensure successful student outcomes 
  • To contribute positively and appropriately as a member of a teaching team 
  • To continually assist, improve develop the programme.  
  • Regularly engages with industry, community, employers, and field of practice. 
  • Discipline and Subject Area: Sport Sciences  
  • Good understanding in the knowledge of physical literacy, sport and exercise psychology, human movement and Motor Learning. 
  • Familiar with designing effective sport and exercise programme and nutrition plan. 
  • Understanding the current professional practices of the sport industry. 

He kōrero mōu| About you 

To be successful in this role you will have: 

  • Tertiary qualification one level above the level required to teach;  
  • Two years' experience teaching subject matters to be able to obtain a work visa.  
  • Must be below 60 years old to obtain China Work Visa.  
  • Experience with young-adult Chinese learners with low-level English skills.  
  • Have some overseas teaching experience and ideally have worked in China before with young adult learners. However, this is not mandatory  
  • Passport must be valid for more than 12 months  
  • A clear medical check report from a designated Chinese or overseas hospital / medical clinic is required
