Are you passionate about both animal care and supporting the next generation of veterinary professionals? Join Wintec’s Centre for Animal Technology as a Veterinary Nurse, where you’ll play a vital role in delivering high-quality care to our animals and hands-on learning experiences to our students. This part-time position will see you working closely with veterinarians, students, and staff to ensure the smooth operation of our teaching surgery and the best possible outcomes for our learners.

The Veterinary Nurse is based in our Centre for Animal Technology, reporting to the Surgery Manager, and will be responsible for:

  • Assisting veterinarians during surgical procedures and providing post-operative      care, while supporting students throughout these processes
  • Supervising and mentoring students in practical sessions within the surgery
  • Maintaining accurate medical records and ensuring compliance with veterinary standards
  • Supporting the overall operation of the veterinary surgery, including reception and general nursing duties

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • A minimum qualification of a Diploma in Veterinary Nursing
  • Confidence in your own clinical skills and the ability to teach and mentor students
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a passion for supporting and guiding learners
  • The ability to work collaboratively within a team environment

While supporting the marking of student work is not a requirement, there may be opportunities to assist with this by agreement and subject to approval for additional hours.
