  Mō Tēnei Tūranga Mahi | About the Role  


We are seeking a Senior Lecturer in Human Resource Management. Key responsibilities include:

  • Teaching and Learning:
     
    • Deliver engaging and high-quality teaching in Human Resource Management across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
       
    • Contribute to the development and delivery of course content in the Bachelor of Applied Management, Graduate Diploma, Postgraduate Diploma, and Master of Applied Management programmes.
       
    • Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research projects and theses.
       
    • Use innovative teaching methods to support diverse learning styles.
       
  • Academic Leadership:
     
    • Lead curriculum development and continuous improvement in HR courses.
       
    • Mentor academic staff and contribute to staff development activities.
       
    • Collaborate with industry partners to ensure curriculum relevance and alignment with current HR practices.
       
    • Leverage established local HR industry connections to enhance student learning and employability outcomes.
       
  • Research and Scholarship:
     
    • Engage in applied research and scholarly activities, contributing to the Centre’s research profile.
       
    • Publish research outcomes in reputable academic journals and present at conferences.
       
  • Student Engagement and Support:
     
    • Provide academic guidance and support to students.
       
    • Facilitate a positive and inclusive learning environment.
       
    • Participate in student recruitment, orientation, and engagement activities.
       
  • Service and Contribution:
     
    • Participate actively in departmental meetings and strategic planning.
       
    • Contribute to the wider academic community through committee involvement and peer review.
       
    • Support the Centre’s commitment to diversity and inclusive practices.

Ideally you will have:

  • A Ph.D. in Human Resource Management or a closely related field (preferred).
     
  • Demonstrated experience in teaching HRM at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
     
  • Proven record of research and scholarly publications.
     
  • Experience in supervising postgraduate research.
     
  • Strong local HR industry connections and the ability to integrate practice-based learning.
     
  • Experience with online and blended learning platforms is desirable.
     
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
